Gary Lillith Electric Mud sends you to distant lands where cinema and prog music combine to create a unique climate, a painting in the sun where colors mix as they melt; a unique album that becomes the avant-garde of the genre. Favorite track: the fear within.

Manuel Devesa A stunning collection of great ideas. A majestic series of richly textured, thoughtful compositions that capture many different moods in all their depths.
Favorite track: silent stranger suite.

Andre Buckner A great atmospheric album. Already the prelude "Exploring the Great Wide Nothing" takes you out of the present. Especially in this prelude the music forms a beautiful unity with the absolutely coherent artwork. Again and again surprising passages keep the tension high. The listener is sometimes transported to a church with a massive organ, another time you hear medieval music. "The Inner World Outside" often has a classical touch despite all electronics, even jazzy sounds can be found.

Favorite track: exploring the great wide nothing.

Andrea Weiss With this album, Electric Mud has reached a new dimension and I am absolutely thrilled. Each song paints a wonderful painting of intense colors with notes. When listening it is an explosion of senses leaving a complete painting by the end of each song. The alternation between fast and slow passages is well dosed and makes every song a jewel. The same goes for the change between classic, jazz and funky elements. They all combine to create a wonderful overall picture and listening pleasure. Favorite track: sérotonine.

about

Velvet Thunder:
"It is easy to get lost in the unfolding of sound around you. Straight away it has to be made clear that immediate hooks and hummable melodies are not the major stock in trade here – but of course that is no bad thing used in the right manner. Let’s put it this way: Mahler’s Second Symphony is a towering piece of musical brilliance, but you’d be hard pressed to whistle it"

MangoWave:
"Sweet chimes, passionate strings, a powerful organ, and the whole section of Prog Rock-related organic and electronic instruments creates magical soundscapes of film score character. Electric Mud made a huge step, and can now call themselves sonic storytellers or creators of Cinematic Prog Art"

"This is a challenging album, but it is ultimately a rewarding one. It is a complex, moody, release which I will return to on a regular basis."
